First Aid & CPR Guyana

Als u in de kinderopvang werkt in Guyana — of het nu in een kinderdagverblijf, peuterspeelzaal, thuisopvang of kamp is — is de certificering in EHBO en reanimatie niet optioneel. Het is een vergunningsvereiste, en terecht: kinderen behoren tot de meest kwetsbaren voor verstikking, allergische reacties en verwondingen. Voorbereid zijn om in te grijpen kan alles veranderen.

Wat Guyana vereist

Guyana does set an expectation in law: under the Childcare and Development Services Regulation No. 3 of 2016, early-childhood caregivers are to be trained in "lifesaving and CPR", and the required Health Plan calls for staff training in basic emergency medical care alongside a well-equipped first-aid kit. Residential facilities must keep at least one first-aid-trained staff member on duty at all times. In plain terms, the people minding Guyana's youngest children are expected to know how to respond when a life is on the line.
